Our current CD Relatively Blue has 12 tracks featuring the original line up, and also our brass section on some tracks. Releasedin jan 2003, this is a professionally recorded and produced album, and is a fantastic showcase of what we do best. Very hi-fi, but not over-manicured and over-produced. Running time is over 60 minutes of definitive Elevators blues.
Blues In Britain review V1/14 Feb 2003 "The Elevators first available recorded set provides an hour of accessible covers very tastefully done. While there are no real surprises materially, stylistically or inspirationally, the emphasis is on well-paced, measured electric guitar blues. Half the tracks have the 'occasional' horn section that is well represented. Jane Stimpsons classy solo on Cray's "That's What I'll Do" is particularly noteworthy" Frank Franklin

Blues Matters review June 2003 "A Cd made up of songs played in the bands live set but played their way. I talked to band member John Whippy about the album and as he says, and I can't say it better: "played our way, with love and affection, to serve both as a snapshot and a souvenir for fans at our live gigs, and maybe too, a signpost for beginners, to help seek out the originals that inspired us to love and play the Blues in the first place".thanks John for that. So okay do not expect an album that will set the world on fire BUT do expect a good quality album of interpretations. Sadly I've not yet seen the band live but have heard good things about their live sets so will indeed look forward to the day when I can catch them. There is some very neat guitar from Phil Greaves. I must say that I am surprised there were no Peter Green songs here as I kept picturing them doing superb versions, there's something in John's voice and Phil's guitar tone that if you just shut your eyes you can almost hear shades of F.Mac in there. I must say that I really did enjoy this CD and it will get a lot of plays so will definitely recommend it to you." Darren Howells
